Reverend Franklin Peterson, Jr.

Reverend Franklin Peterson, Jr., is a native of North Carolina.  He moved to Baltimore in 1967 where he completed his high school education.  He received his call to the Gospel Ministry in 1982.  Rev. Peterson preached his initial sermon “What God Expects of Christians” September 18, 1983.  Since then he has faithfully been preaching and teaching God’s Word.

Rev. Peterson furthered his studies at the Virginia Seminary and College.  He is the recipient of an Advanced Teacher’s Certificate from the Evangelical Teacher Training Association and has a Diploma in Bible. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a Master’s Degree in Ministry.

            Rev. Peterson formerly served as an instructor at the Mt. Pleasant Bible Institute, and for the Family Bible Institute and College.  He served as a  lecturer for the Laymen’s League, and was an instructor of a 12-week Evangelism Course for the United Baptist Missionary Convention and Auxiliaries of Maryland.  He has lectured in many seminars and workshops throughout Baltimore and the surrounding areas.

            On June 17, 1992, Rev. Franklin Peterson was elected as pastor of the FaithUnitedBaptistChurch, and ordained at the Mt.PleasantBaptistChurch on July 31, 1992.  He was   installed as the Pastor of FaithUnitedBaptistChurch on October 25, 1992 - truly a shepherd sent by God.

            Under the leadership of Franklin Peterson, Jr. Faith United has grown spiritually and physically from 30 to more than 600 members.   Various ministries have been birthed under his leadership.   Through God’s vision given to Rev. Peterson, in 2003 the Faith United Bible Institute became a reality.

            His ambition is to build God’s Kingdom one disciple at a time.  His prayer is that Faith United not only are soul winners but be disciple makers, therefore, making an impact not only in the church, but in the community.  His hope is that Faith United be a  beacon of light in this time when the world is suffering from a spiritual blackout.  His passion is leading souls to Christ.

            Rev. Peterson is married to Wanda Peterson and is the father of two sons - Jason and Jermaine who is married to the lovely Davon Peterson.  He has three grandchildren -  Jermaine Peterson, Jr., Jada Peterson and Nevaeh Peterson.   He considers his family his greatest earthly blessing.

            Above all these credentials, Rev. Franklin Peterson, Jr.  is a born again child of God.  He is grounded in the Word.  He preaches, teaches, illuminates, expounds  and ministers  the Word of God.  He is determined to win the world for Christ by any means necessary.
