Faith United Baptist Church Leadership

Faith United Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Rev. Dwayne R. Pate Jr.

Senior Pastor

Rev. Dwayne R. Pate Jr. is a deeply committed spiritual leader who
discovered his calling at an early age. A native of Baltimore, he
graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Sr. High School and later pursued
higher education at Waynesburg University, Morgan State University,
and Palmer Theological Seminary. His journey into ministry began on
June 1, 2005, when he preached his first sermon at Greater Gethsemane
Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Dr. Reginald Thomas
Sr., who became a significant mentor in his life. Rev. Pate was
ordained on December 19, 2014, at the same church. He is currently
enrolled in a Doctor of Ministry program at Liberty University,
focusing on Church Revitalization.

Over the years, Rev. Pate has garnered a wealth of ministry experience
serving in various capacities such as Youth & Young Adult Pastor,
Mission Director, and Executive Minister, primarily at Greater
Gethsemane and Cedar Street Baptist Church of God. Guided by the
philosophy that "if you stop learning, you stop growing," imparted by
Dr. Thomas, he is committed to continuous spiritual and personal
growth, aiming to lead and serve his church community effectively.

On the personal front, Rev. Pate is married to his high school
sweetheart, Courtney Maria, and they are blessed with four children:
Dwayne III (Trey), Hunter Noel, Avery Mason, and Cailen Michelle. His
guiding scriptural mantra comes from Psalm 91:1-2, emphasizing trust
and refuge in God, which underscores his approach to his spiritual
journey and ministry.
